2014 news: Last year, with the agreement of the owners of Ashgrove and Vines Farms and the help of the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens, who installed a new kissing-gate and Gloucestershire County Council RoW Office, Charlton Kings Parish Council opened a new ‘Permissive Footpath’ on Timbercombe Hill.  This path creates an easier circular route between The Beeches and Timbercombe Lane and provides an alternative route for dog walkers away from the sheep in the field above Timbercombe Wood.

To start the new year, two new oak fingerposts have been erected to signpost the new footpath.  It took nine volunteers, organised by Charlton Kings Parish Council, to carry the two signs and three bags of postcrete up the hill to the four Cotswold Voluntary Wardens who installed them.

We are aware the manufacturer of the fingerposts fitted the Ravensgate Common/Timbercombe Lane fingers the wrong way round and we will be reversing these at the earliest possible opportunity!
