Charlton Kings Speed Limit Reduction – A40 Between Glenfall Way and Woodmeade Close

Gloucestershire Highways will very shortly be undertaking works to implement a speed limit reduction scheme on the A40 through Charlton Kings. The existing 40mph limit that begins near Glenfall Way and ends just East of Woodgate Close will become 30mph. The work includes alterations to signing and lining to bring into effect the speed limit changes. Also included is the construction of a number of central traffic islands along the route.

Work is programmed to take place from the 18th April 2017 for a period of 4 weeks.

During the first two weeks of construction it is proposed that traffic will be managed using temporary traffic signals and road narrowings. During the third week of construction it will be necessary to implement a road closure from 2nd May to 16th May between 0930-1600 on the A40 route between Glenfall Way and Woodmeade Close. While the closure is in operation, only access to frontages will be available and other traffic should follow the signed diversion route. Any amendments to the proposed works dates will be advised via the temporary signing in close proximity to the site. Any queries to Gloucester Highways on 08000 514514
