The Dementia Connect service advisers offer telephone or face-to-face advice and help people to remain independent, and active in their communities. Talking Point is a free on-line community open 24 hours per day and is accessed on-line. The website has telephone numbers for many services in the local area, such as Gloucester Befriending service (a telephone service for people who need a bit of company), and 'Singing for the Brain' . The Alzheimer's Society also runs the Dementia Friends Programme which helps to change people's perceptions about dementia.

Cheltenham Memory Café is a monthly Memory Café for people who are worried about their memory, their family and friends and anyone affected by dementia. It offers a relaxed café area where people can meet and share experiences with others in a similar situation and get practical information and advice form health and care professionals. Meets on Tuesdays usually in Pittville Room, Cheltenham Municipal Offices.

Gloucester Befriending Service
A service for anyone who needs some extra company and support to go on living happily in their own home through providing friendly neighbourly visits of at least an hour in length. The service can be provided on a long or short term basis and can provide respite for carers during the day and help with household chores, trips out etc.
Gloucestershire County Council: Telecare
Telecare can benefit people who are physically frail, have memory loss or need reassurance. A variety of equipment is available which may enable people to live independently and can hep with medication management, general safety and wandering or falls. It is free for those who meet the GCC eligibility criteria and others are able to seek advice about how to purchase or hire equipment.

A Gloucestershire Charity meeting people with dementia through music and song to help unlock memories. Singing and music therapy services are offered and can be delivered in care homes, for groups and within private homes.
Out and About Service
This service is for people with care needs or people who may feel socially isolated and want to participate in some stimulating activities, including those with mild to moderate dementia. The Out and About Service has support workers who take people to community activities such as bowling, theatre, meals etc and includes accessible transport.
