Christmas Light Switch-on and Fayre
Join us for the annual Christmas Fayre and Lights Switch On at Church Piece near the Charlton Kings Library on Friday 1st December 2023, 3pm - 6pm.
Father Christmas and his Reindeer will be waiting to meet you by the Christmas Tree once again with Mrs Christmas and the Christmas Elf ready to say hello too.
Scarrotts Funfair will provide lots of fun with 2 Carousels, the Fun House and some game stalls to play too.
If you feel lucky, do buy a raffle ticket with a chance of winning a lovely hamper and other excellent prizes.
Tickets will be on sale just inside the Stanton Hall on the day and all proceeds will go towards funding next year's event. Tickets will also be on sale in the week before from Smart Fish Bar on Church Piece.
We will be hosting a number of local business and craft stalls in the Stanton Hall between 3.00pm and 6.00pm whilst the Christmas Fayre is in full swing on Church Piece.
It's always a fun evening for the whole family so please come along and join us at this free community event.
Schedule of events: TBC
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the annual Christmas Fayre and Lights Switch On at Church Piece 2022.
We were joined once again by Father Christmas, Mrs Christmas and their Elf as they listened to Christmas wishes and confirmed that all of the children in CK are most definitely on the nice list!
Thank you to Josie Houghton from Josies Kitchen (also known as Mrs Christmas) for organising the Food Collection for Springbank food panty and to everyone who donated so generously to the collection. It was heartwarming to see people rushing home to grab a tin or buy something at the local Coop to donate.
The Reindeer were a popular attraction next to the Christmas tree and lots of people stopped to say hello. The Santalorian, Boba Fett and Mando (characters from Star Wars) and Mickey Mouse were all walking around the Fayre and stopping to say hello and have photos taken too. Thank you to the local Star Wars Crew for giving up another Friday afternoon/evening to come and join in the fun. Great to see you out again!
Scarrotts Funfair was busy all evening with 2 Carousels, the Fun House and some game stalls too. We hope that you had all the fun of the fayre as well as a mince pie from Moosh and perhaps a mulled wine from the Merryfellow too.
Our raffle raised £150 in total which will be put towards funding the entertainment again next year. Many thanks to all of the local businesses and community groups who provided such generous prizes.
The local business and craft stalls in the Stanton Hall were busy all evening and had a very successful event. So much so that many of them are planning on returning to all three events next year.
Thank you to Coady Crew and the Choirs who provided excellent entertainment throughout the evening with their dancing in the Kings Hall and the singing by the Christmas Tree.
We hope that all of our residents had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and wish you a very Merry Christmas.
Our Christmas Tree will stay up until the 4th of January and you are very welcome to add decorations to the tree until then. The tree will be checked daily over the Christmas period.
