Cllr Alan Hawkins

Cllr Alan Hawkins

South Ward

Cllr Hawkins is Chair of the Allotments Committee. He represents the Parish Council on the management group of the Restoring Cheltenham's Escarpment Grasslands Project.

About me

I have lived in Charlton Kings for 26 years and was educated at Cheltenham Grammar School and North Gloucestershire College of Technology where I gained amongst other things an HND in Building and Civil Engineering

I have worked mainly in civil engineering with Gloucestershire County Council, Severn Trent Water plc and the Environment Agency while combining it with working as a freelance photographer.

Since retirement my interests now include charity work supporting WaterAid and Sue Ryder, maintaining my wildlife garden and allotment, caravanning, motorbiking, scootering and skiing.

Why I became a Councillor

I became a Councillor mainly because I was asked, and having retired I now have the time and skills to hopefully add something positive to the community I have now lived in for the last 26 years
