Cllr Janet Honeywill
Cllr Honeywill is Vice-Chair of the Parish Council and Chair of the Community Engagement and Wellbeing Committee. Together with Cllrs Parnham and Williams, she represents the Council on the C5 Parish Councils group.
I have lived in Cheltenham since 1977 when I first moved to Charlton Kings. My two children and five grandchildren have all attended local schools. I spent my working life as a Human Resources specialist within the banking and building society sector and am now retired.
For the last ten years, I have run Bijou Opera, a local opera film club, together with my husband. For many years I was involved in the amateur operatic scene in Cheltenham and have directed shows at the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres. I was also Fundraising Co-ordinator for the Jose Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation.
Why I became a Councillor
As a long-time resident of Charlton King, both myself and my family have benefited from the sense of community, green spaces and quality of life in this area. Now that I am retired, I have the time to use my professional skills and experience in order to support my local community.
