Cllr Ned Holt
North Ward
Cllr Holt represents the Council on the G3 liaison group with Gloucestershire County Council. Cllr Holt is one of the Councillor leads for our Rights of Way projects.
About me
Following a degree in History from Merton College, Oxford, I trained as a teacher. I worked in schools in Plymouth and Reading and in the latter I was a senior teacher in charge of the Sixth Form for twenty years. I was also an examiner and team leader for the Cambridge A level Board. I have now been retired for six years and have lived in Charlton Kings for four years.
I have a passion for the theatre and for music of most kinds. In addition I am an avid follower of first class cricket and am on the committee of the Southern Group of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club. For some years I was involved in running a youth football club and a local community association in Reading. I am also a member of the School Foundation associated with one of the schools where I worked as a teacher.
Why I became a Councillor
I was motivated to become a Councillor because, as a relatively recent resident of Charlton Kings, it is an excellent way to learn more about my local community and to engage with and support initiatives for all those who live here.
