About me
I have lived in Charlton Kings for around 5 years and have been resident in Cheltenham since 2004. I have two daughters who attended the excellent local school within Charlton Kings. I am currently working in the Cyber Security industry as a Systems Engineering Consultant for a small engineering consultancy company based in Cheltenham and have previously worked at GE Aviation in Bishops Cleeve. I also work as a part-time university lecturer at Gloucester College in Cheltenham where I work with degree apprentices from a variety of industries in the local area. I lecture in Systems Engineering and Embedded Software Design and get to help the students on real-world development projects for their companies. I particularly enjoy the lecturing role as it brings me into contact with a broad range of people with different backgrounds and experience levels.
Why I became a councillor
I really enjoy the community feel of the Charlton Kings area and am interested in working with the other councillors and wider councils to try to make a difference in the local area and also learn about how local government works. Having worked in senior roles in a variety of large, complex projects and programs, I am hoping that I can use my experience and skills to be an enthusiastic and committed councillor and ambassador for local residents.
