Meet Noah, Community Youth Worker - researching the needs of young people in Charlton Kings - March to June 2024
The Parish Council is delighted to welcome Community Youth Worker Noah Beard to Charlton Kings! Noah works for the Stroud based charity The Door, and will be on contract to the Parish Council for the next 3 months, talking to young people and our community partners to bring forward some analysis & recommendations for what we hope will be a long term-plan for youth work in our parish.
This research has been grant-funded by the Build Back Better Councillor Grant Scheme in Gloucestershire County Council, a councillor led community initiative grant programme, "to help communities recover, rebuild and protect themselves from the impacts of COVID-19" (GCC).On behalf of the community the Parish Council would like to extend our thanks to Councillors Matt Babbage & Paul Baker, who supported our application for this funding.
If you want to get in touch with Noah, please let us know at ao@charltonkingsparishcouncil.gov.uk

Background research commissioned by the Parish Council
In 2022 Educational Psychologist Emily Vincent delivered a research-based report titled "From Pandemic to Endemic – a post-lockdown investigation into the health & well-being of young people in Charlton Kings". This was a collaborative piece of work conducted by the Parish Council and Balcarras Academy School. The report can be viewed below and further background information can be found here.
