Charlton Kings Police Point Drop-in in September

Charlton Kings Police Point Drop-in in September
The Police are one of the partners of the Parish Council and share our aims of making Charlton Kings a safe place to live and work. The Police will be using the Conference Room as a Police Point from 11am – 12pm, one day a month.
The Police Point provides a drop-in opportunity for anyone to come and speak to the Police with questions or concerns. The aim of the Police Point is to improve access to the Police and maintain the two-way communication with the Community. These conversations will assist local Police in identifying potential crime and disorder problems in the Parish and setting area priorities, as well as forwarding information to other services where necessary.
This is not meant to replace a Police Station but is a tool that facilitates a face-to-face contact for people who want to speak to a local Police Officer.
The Police Point will be open from 11am – 12pm on the following dates subject to Police Officer availability:
- Thursday 21st September
- Thursday 12th October
- Friday 3rd November
- Wednesday 6th December

The Importance of Insects: Art Workshop & Talk
Thu, 21 Sep 2023 19:30
A unique talk and art session with Cath Hodsman, AMRSB, in appreciation of insects.
Cath Hodsman is one of the U.K's foremost entomological (insect) artists, illustrators, conservationists and teachers. She has exhibited, showcased, or taught at many relevant esteemed venues throughout her career, including the Queens Gallery, Buckingham Palace, the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, R.H.S Wisley and the Natural History Museum, London.
The event in Charlton Kings is a unique chance to spend an evening with Cath. She'll talk about why the smallest things in life are the most important things in Iife, and how her appreciation of insects influences her artwork.
Participants will also have the chance to study and sketch a bee in a way that they have never been able to before - by using Cath's microscopes or macro photographic material to produce a detailed and unique homage to these iconic and well-loved insects.
No prior experience is necessary, and all materials will be supplied.
Please be aware that insect specimens will be used in the workshop. The insects have either died naturally, or have been ethically sourced.
