Creation of two new Native Woodland copses at Newcourt Green

Creation of two new Native Woodland copses at Newcourt Green

Cheltenham Borough Council will be planting two small, copses of native trees at Newcourt Green in March 2021. Originally planned as community plantings, Covid-19 has disrupted its plans and the limitations of the Forestry Commission grant scheme under which these trees have been provided, has meant that this planting season is when they have to be put in the ground.

All the Borough and Parish Councillors in Charlton Park and its adjacent Charlton Kings Ward are really supportive of the project which will see new generations of Oak, Holly, Field Maple, Spindle, and others bring new landscape vistas and increased biodiversity to a much-loved greenspace.
