The Charlton Kings Repair Cafe is a community initiative by CK Futures to help residents repair, reuse, and share everyday items. With the support of Vision 21, this monthly event will bring people together to reduce waste, save money, and learn new skills while fostering a stronger, more sustainable community.

What Is a Repair Café?

A Repair Café is a friendly, volunteer-led event where people can bring broken or damaged items to be fixed. Whether it's a small electrical device, a torn piece of clothing, or a blunt tool, our skilled volunteers will do their best to repair it, all while teaching practical skills and reducing landfill waste.

Why Are We Doing This?

The Charlton Kings Repair Café is part of our vision to create a thriving circular economy in our community. Instead of the traditional "take, make, throw away" model, we aim to extend the life of items through repair, sharing, and reuse. This helps:

  • Save money for local people.
  • Reduce the environmental impact of waste and consumption.
  • Create connections within our community.

What’s the Plan?

  • Regular Schedule: Monthly events will run on the third Saturday of each month.
  • Core Services: These will include clothing repairs, small electrical fixes, tool sharpening, and more. Pop-up repair services will also be added occasionally.
  • Details to Come: Closer to the launch, we'll share specifics about the types of repairs available and how to bring your items along.

Thanks to Our Volunteers and Partners

The Repair Café wouldn't be possible without the generous support of our volunteers - skilled repairers, organisers, and helpers who are bringing this vision to life. A special thanks also goes to Vision 21 for their guidance and expertise in setting up this initiative.
